Muhib Foundation of Muslim Funeral Services

PURPOSES: The Muhib Foundation of Muslim Funeral Services (Muhib) exists to provide financial support to families in need of financial assistance to cover the burial costs associated with Muslim Funeral Rites.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS: Due to the urgent nature of Muslim burial practices, acceptance of funds from Muhib constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions in whole.

ELIGIBILITY: The fiscal agent of the decedent (usually the spouse, next of kin, or estate executor/administrator) is eligible to receive funds from Muhib to cover the costs of Muslim burial rites of the decedent. Muhib will publish the eligibility criteria separately and will, from time to time, update the criteria. Muhib may, at their discretion, pay the funds directly to the service provider rather than to the fiscal agent. Those with resources, such as burial insurance,
or assets to fully cover the costs of Muslim burial rites, are not eligible.

GRANT AMOUNT: Muhib will pay to the applicant the amount determined by the Board of Muhib. The grant amount may be calculated based on a published schedule or an individual basis.

REPORTING: Muhib, or its designee, will provide the appropriate tax forms to the applicant. It is the applicant’s responsibility to file all required reports with the appropriate state or federal agency.

USE OF FUNDS: Funds awarded from Muhib are to cover burial costs for Muslim funerals. All unspent funds should be returned to Muhib within 30 days. Additional funds may be provided at the sole discretion of Muhib but are not guaranteed. Should the estate of the deceased later produce funds to cover burial costs, the estate is requested to return grant funds to Muhib for future needs.

NOTICES AND APPROVALS: Written notices, requests, and approvals under this Agreement must be delivered by mail or email to the other Party’s primary contact specified on the Agreement Summary & Signature Page, or as otherwise directed by the other Party.

SEVERABILITY: Each provision of this Agreement must be interpreted in a way that is enforceable under applicable law. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest of the Agreement will remain in effect.

ASSIGNMENT: You may not assign, or transfer by operation of law or court order, any of Your rights or obligations under this Agreement without the Foundation’s prior written approval. This Agreement will bind and benefit any permitted successors and assigns.
